Roebuck House
Location: London
Architect: T P Bennett
Principal Contractor: Brown & Carroll

20 Palace Street, London is a high quality residential development which required the refurbishment and alteration of a 16-storey building providing 135 high quality apartments.

The architect's brief was to develop a bespoke range of ironmongery that would reflect the 1960s design era of the existing building whilst giving the building a design edge.

In a residential setting, the ironmongery had to give a contemporary look and easily withstand the rigours of everyday life. Stainless steel material was required as the satin finish is easy to maintain, looks good over a long life and requires virtually no maintenance.

To meet the needs of the clients, Yannedis designed a range of square profile lever handle door furniture which captured the 1960s flavour.

Yannedis received a commendation in the 2007 Architectural Ironmongery Specification Awards, Residential category for their work on Roebuck House.

Tabard Square
Location: London
Architect: Rolfe Judd
Principal Contractor: Laing O’Rourke Ltd

Tabard Square is the development of one of the largest brownfield sites in London.

It comprises 572 residential units (of which 37% are affordable) and includes a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses located in two contemporary-style buildings and a tower standing at 22 storeys high.

The different disciplines of ownership meant in some instances an alternative level of ironmongery specification and finish was required for each flat.

Yannedis worked closely with the architect and other design team members to provide a solution which met quality and budget as well as the DDA and the fire engineering solution.

Different specification levels had been designed into the development requiring a range of metal finishes with both contract and architectural levels of the hardware and locking systems used.

The scheme has received a number of accolades including Major Housing Project of the Year at the Building Awards 2008.

Architect: South Yorkshire Housing Association
Principal Contractor:
Clayfield Construction Ltd

Older people in Glossop now benefit from a new form of housing called ExtraCare schemes.

The existing building, which was once a residential care home, has been extended and refurbished to provide 45 one and two bedroom apartments and a range of communal facilities including a restaurant and lounges.

Lloyd Worrall worked closely with the design team to ensure DDA requirements were met, and the ironmongery worked in harmony with the surrounding environment while keeping within budget.
