How we’ve been giving back in 2025

At Lloyd Worrall, 2025 has been a standout year for community, collaboration and giving back. Supporting causes that make a real difference, both within construction and beyond, remains a key part of who we are. This year, we have proudly partnered with CRASH and Mates in Mind through the Huws Gray charity initiative, strengthening our commitment to care and responsibility across every part of our business.

Giving back is part of our culture, reflecting our values of care, collaboration and responsibility. For us, making a difference goes beyond projects; it’s about actually supporting people when they need it.

Join us in taking a look back at our charity work from this year in this blog post.

Our 2025 fundraising

From mountain climbs to marathon distances, every event was a chance to push limits, connect as a team, and support two charities making a real impact.

Conquering the 3 Peaks Challenge

The Lloyd Worrall team took on the challenge of scaling Yorkshire’s 3 biggest peaks – Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough – a total distance of 24 miles, all in 12 hours. There was a huge turnout for the challenge, and plenty of support from team members who weren’t able to participate. It was incredibly tough and took a lot of physical and mental resilience from all; in the end, it was the incredible teamwork and support throughout that really pushed them through the tough conditions.

We absolutely smashed the fundraising goal, raising £23,927.14 for CRASH and Mates in Mind. From early morning hikes to steep climbs and sore legs, every mile was worth it and every step a reminder of why we do this: to make a tangible difference where it’s needed most.

Lilla’s 333 km running challenge

The incredible Lilla from our Milton Keynes branch took on an astounding personal fundraising challenge, a 333 km run split across 3 races. She completed the first leg at the 24-Hour Race at Hyde Hall Farm, then went on to run Sandringham 24 and Equinox 24 the following months.

Despite wind, rain and any obstacle her races threw at her, she kept pushing out of determination to make a real difference to mental health and living conditions in our industry.

After her final race, she finished 49th out of 604 runners, bringing her total distance to 338 km and raising well over £500 for our chosen charities.

Why we support CRASH and Mates in Mind

CRASH

At Lloyd Worrall, we’re proud to support CRASH, the construction industry’s charity that helps homelessness charities and hospices improve the buildings and spaces they rely on. By providing professional expertise, materials and grants, CRASH transforms hostels, day centres, night shelters and hospice environments into places that offer safety, dignity and comfort to those who need it most.

Our fundraising efforts help CRASH continue their vital work, enabling better spaces for care, recovery and support. Their mission resonates deeply with our own values. As a business built around creating safe, functional and accessible environments, we believe everyone deserves a place where they feel secure and supported.

Supporting CRASH allows us to give something back through the industry we’re proud to be part of, helping to build not just better buildings, but stronger communities.

Mates in Mind

We’re also committed supporters of Mates in Mind, a charity that works to improve mental health and wellbeing across the construction industry. They provide essential training, resources and awareness programmes that help organisations build a culture where mental health is openly discussed and supported.

The statistics highlight just how important their work is: construction workers are 3.7 times more likely to die by suicide than the national average, and every working day, an average of two construction workers lose their lives to suicide. These aren’t just numbers, they represent colleagues, friends and loved ones across our industry.

Through fundraising and awareness activities, we’re helping Mates in Mind continue their mission to break down stigma, encourage open conversations, and make sure no one faces mental health challenges alone.

For us, this partnership isn’t just about fundraising, it’s about reinforcing our own internal culture of wellbeing, inclusion and care. We want our teams, partners and customers to know that mental health matters and that together, as an industry, we can make a difference.

Building a culture of care

Taking on these challenges has built a strong sense of pride and unity across the business. Teamwork, empathy and supporting one another are key values that drive how we work with our clients and partners. Each charity initiative we’ve taken on has helped improve team wellbeing and morale, fulfilling those who took part with the knowledge they’ve had a real impact on the community. Giving back strengthens us as a business, reminding us that what we build isn’t just physical but social too.

Looking ahead

Our work isn’t done yet, we’re currently planning more events and initiatives for 2026 and brainstorming more ways we can support charities across the construction industry and beyond. We’re also encouraging team members to take on new challenges for charity and taking ideas for further fundraising opportunities.

We hope to continue supporting Mates in Mind and CRASH through more awareness, fundraising and volunteering to make a real difference in the community. The ultimate goal for all the team at Lloyd Worrall is to build a brighter future in construction that supports those who need it.

If you want to follow along with our journey, then stick around for more updates and partnerships, because together we can achieve a future built on safety, security and accessibility for all. From mountains to marathons, every effort brings us one step closer to long-lasting change.
