Interspec ironmongery and handrailing provide design details to high quality retirement apartments

Lloyd Worrall have provided thoughtful ironmongery and handrail and balustrade solutions to assist with providing the finer design details to a high-end retirement development in London.

The Vale offers contemporary retirement living, where independence and lifestyle are paramount. Open-plan living spaces, luxury kitchens and beautiful bathrooms offer a combination of style and accessibility.

Great care was taken to ensure our ironmongery package and the handrail and balustrade solutions took into consideration the abilities of the end-users. It is important that the accommodation is fully accessible in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 while ensuring fire and safety regulations are met.

Lloyd Worrall specified and supplied a range of designer door and pull handles and accessories to suit the luxury design of the development. The black nickel and polished chrome dual finish door furniture gives the corridors and apartment rooms the perfect first impression.

The corridor doors opened into pockets to create a flush and continuous interior and conceal the wall magnets. The functional ironmongery included low opening force closing devices and electromagnetic hold open door closers to allow easy movement around the building but ensure the fire doors perform as intended. Lloyd Worrall provided guidance with sourcing and specifying the correct wall magnets to fit into the wall pockets.

At the Clients request, Lloyd Worrall also assisted in sourcing and supplying a bank of unobtrusive mailboxes to blend with the interior design of the reception area.

Our H&B Division supplied and installed 50 metres of Interspec timber and stainless steel system to the internal staircases. This allowed the flexibility to combine the two materials, timber handrails with stainless steel ends and brackets and link it with other design features. The walnut handrails matched the door faces and stairwell wooden panelling perfectly.

The staircases feature clear toughened 10mm glass, allowing light into the stairways, but ensuring stringent safety standards to achieve 1.5kN loading.

Externally, we supplied and installed 2 Grade 316 stainless steel Juliet balconies in 10mm toughened, screen printed glass to achieve a minimalist design and create a bright and airy home, allowing light and fresh air in without compromising safety in the apartments.

20m of Interspec stainless steel handrail and stainless steel glazed balustrade was also supplied and installed to the rooftop terrace giving vital support and safety to users.
